Happier Post

1. The bradford pear trees have burst into bloom.

2. I have an off-site meeting all day tomorrow, so I don't have to go to school.

3. I saw a bluebird today.  Perhaps it was the bluebird of happiness.  We'll see.

You need a happiness post tag so that it's over in your your tag cloud balancing the angst :)

Did you sing a song when you saw the bluebird? I think it only works if you sing a song. :)

Great idea. I added the tag, but it looks like happiness has a ways to go yet.

Dang. What song? I didn't know.

Um. *realises she can't actually remember what song she was referring to*. You know. The one with the little bluebird of happiness on your shoulder.

Here You Go...

Bluebird of Happiness
Art Mooney
Words by Edward Heyman and Harry Parr Davies; music by Sandor Harmati.

-Introduced at Radio City Music Hall.
-Popularized by Jan Peerce.
-Best-selling record in 1948 by Art Mooney and his Orchestra.

(verse)
The beggar man and his mighty king are only diff'rent in name,
For they are treated just the same by fate.
Today a smile and tomorrow tears,
We're never sure what's in store,
So learn your lesson before too late, so

(refrain)
Be like I, hold your head up high,
Till you find a bluebird of happiness.
You will find greater peace of mind
Knowing there's a bluebird of happiness.
And when he sings to you,
Though you're deep in blue,
You will see a ray of light creep through,
And so remember this, life is no abyss,
Somewhere there's a bluebird of happiness.

Life is sweet, tender and complete
When you find the bluebird of happiness.
You will find perfect peace of mind
When you find the bluebird of happiness.
Two hearts that beat as one,
'Neath a new found sun,
We are in a world that's just begun,
And you must sing his song, as you go along,
When you find the bluebird of happiness.

Now, if I only knew the tune...

Another one! I found this one. And doesn't Mary Poppins run around with a little bluebird chirping on her shoulder?

Oh, yes, and I actually KNOW both those songs. Except that Zippity one makes me cringe. It's almost as bad as...no, I can't say it...alright, here goes...

It's a Small World

I'm sorry. You'll be singing it all day, now.
