:P Real life is kind of important I guess. And getting over the time difference.
I agreee. Have you read Nation?
It's a trip based in the English department of school so mostly literary-like places... mn, off the top of my head: a couple of days in London, one around Shakespeare's home, a day at one of the universities... not really sure without holding the itinerary.
Nation was one of my favorite books from the past year. Have you read it?
That trip sounds marvelous! I didn't make it to Stratford-Upon-Avon but would liked to have. Oxford was awesome. Hee, if you go in February you'll need to buy a heavy coat! Oh, and in London ALL the women had beautiful scarves around their necks. I had to buy one or...three. :)
No, not yet, but I think you were the one who recommended it. I'm working on the second Lymond right now.
I can't remember if it's Oxford or Cambridge we're going to visit. Hm. But I have my fantastic big thick black coat that I got for my France trip! Even though I didn't wear it because it wasn't THAT cold. And scarves - I live for the weather in which I can wear them :D
Have you read The Demon's Lexicon yet? I have that on my to-read pile. I read Sarah Rees Brennen's story in The Eternal Kiss (thirteen vampire stories) and her's was a standout, so I am expecting good things. I have yet to read Swordspoint, either, so I'm curious to hear what you think about that, too.
I haven't read it yet. I had a very hard time finding it in England; I went to three or four bookstores looking. So far Swordspoint just isn't doing it for me and I'm not sure why. It seems slow. Lots and lots of setting up the world, lots and lots of characters, and not much action. I'm going to forge on and hope it picks up.
Its a good one. I was one of those lucky people that got an ARC. I'm at the bottom of the totem pole as far as ARC claiming goes at the bookstore, but fortunately for me, I have somewhat different taste from the full-timers, and some awesome stuff trickles down. Among those to trickle down to Lucy Me was Demons Lexicon. :D
Checkers, I want all of these for myself. One thing that has been keeping me from buying RJs book is I prefer the British cover/title.
I'm looking forward to reading Demon's Lexicon. Ha, there were lots more British covers I'd have liked to have. I was in the bookstores, oohing and ahhing over them.
I spent a week in London and one day took the train to Oxford and met up with Ro, Em, Hebe and Emma. Such fun! Another day took a train to Bath which is amazingly beautiful and interesting. Then I went on and spent a week in Ireland. It was a wonderful vacation.
CHECKAS! I'm working backwards through my f-list so I'm assuming they'll be a post on how wonderful England was and how much you missed out on seeing me. Loving the British books. :D

Did you have a good time? You have to give me the scoop for when I go to England over Mardi Gras!
I wish I had that cover of House of Many Ways. Very cool.

I like that House of Many Ways so much better than the US cover. And the US cover of Nation sucks and this one is soooo beautiful.
How cool that you're going to England! Whereabouts will you be, do you know yet?
