Looooooooooooong week
Apr. 13th, 2007 05:52 pmActually, only the past three days have been long.
One of our seventh grade students darted out across a busy street near her house the other night and was hit by a car. She's on life support and is not expected to live.
There was an open house for next year's sixth graders last night, and I didn't get home until after 9 pm. But it went well. Lots of visitors to the library.
Yesterday during the "Career Day" speakers, some students went into the boy's restroom and made an acid bomb out of cleaning chemicals and aluminum foil. They blew the toilet loose from the floor. Mayhem ensued. I know you are laughing, but they got expelled for a year! Zero tolerance for that sort of thing, and really, that's how it has to be. Someone could have been hurt. SO stupid. Did I mention there were innocent bystanders in the bathroom who had, perhaps literally, the crap scared out of them?
More later...
